In a very special edition of the Tank Slappers Podcast, Autosport sits down with newly-crowned MotoGP world champion Joan Mir to discuss his incredible 2020 season.

The 23-year-old wrapped up his first premier class world title in last weekend’s Valencia Grand Prix after taking the chequered flag in a safe seventh in a “nightmare” race.

Mir, just five years into his world championship career, becomes just the fourth Spanish rider to have won the premier class title and ended a 20-year wait for Suzuki to win the MotoGP championship again.

In one of MotoGP’s wildest and most exciting seasons, Mir prevailed with his devastating consistency while his rivals all faltered at various points of the campaign.

Joining Autosport’s Lewis Duncan and’s Oriol Puigdemont for a special edition of the Tank Slappers Podcast, Mir talks about the difficulties he faced on his quest to the 2020 title.

He also looks ahead to 2021, where he will be the rider everyone is chasing and will also have to go up against Marc Marquez on his return from injury – challenges Mir is relishing.
