As Formula 1 heads into the final round of an incredible 2020 season, the paddock has descended on to the Yas Island for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Following another busy pre-event media day on Thursday, it was confirmed Lewis Hamilton is able to return to action for Mercedes after testing negative for COVID-19 having been ruled out of last weekend’s Sakhir GP due to the virus.

It means George Russell will return to Williams after his spectacular one-race outing at Mercedes as stand-in for Hamilton, while Jack Aitken will resume reserve driver duties at Williams.

All eyes will be on Hamilton’s comeback having been suffering with COVID-19, as Russell gained huge attention impressing on his late call-up despite Mercedes’ pitstop blunder and his late puncture which dropped him to ninth place in the Sakhir GP.

The race also marks the end of a number of eras, with a host of drivers competing for their current teams for the final time, including Sakhir GP winner Sergio Perez at Racing Point.

The Abu Dhabi GP marks the concluding round of a truly unique 2020 season which started back in July with the Austria GP following the COVID-19-enforced crisis and subsequent shutdown.
