Autosport is 70 years old and we’ve recorded a special podcast as part of our birthday celebrations.

A lot has changed in motorsport since the first issue of Autosport magazine appeared on 25 August 1950. Podcast host and Autosport Grand Prix Editor Alex Kalinauckas is joined by Chief Editor Kevin Turner, magazine Deputy Editor Marcus Simmons and Editorial Assistant Matt Kew to assess both the good and the bad developments over those seven decades.

As well as discussing how the level of competitiveness, technology and drivers have changed, we also talk about how Autosport itself has evolved. From a 36-page magazine to a brand that includes Autosport International, the Autosport Awards and autosport.com.

The centrepiece of our 2020 celebration is the 196-page birthday special and the quartet also discuss some of its more controversial elements. ‘The Greatest’ is its theme, with the best drivers, cars and events selected from motorsport history, creating plenty of room for some healthy debate.

Autosport has produced a standalone special magazine to celebrate our 70th birthday. All current print subscribers will receive a copy for free. To order your copy of the 196-page Autosport 70th Anniversary issue, please go to: autosport.com/autosport70th
