After the skies punished the Moto3 class with a downpour, they looked more favourably upon the premier class with patches of blue sky for their final practice session. Miguel Oliveira went fastest in the closing stages of FP4, although it’s hard to say if all the wet running will prove educational by the time the race comes. Regardless, Joan Mir also seemed to have made solid progress in the wet to climb into second in the session, less than two tenths slower than Oliveira. Jack Miller continued to thrive in the tricky conditions and led the way for most of the session, eventually settling for third, ahead of teammate Pecco Bagnaia.
Franco Morbidelli was once again the lead Yamaha rider ahead of Andrea Dovizioso, while Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco posted identical times half a second off the lead. Stefan Bradl continues to shine in Valencia, ninth in the session and ahead of colleague Takaaki Nakagami, who completes the top ten. Alex Rins and Pol Espargaro missed out on the top ten, although only six tenths off the lead, ahead of the factory Yamaha duo of Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi – the Spaniard ending the session with a tumble at turn five on an outlap.
